Foundations is a self-study, 16 module course to be started between the 3rd and 6th month of employment. An orientation session is attended where you receive the materials and basic information needed along with the assignment of a tutor for you to use as a resource during the course. An exam is written at the end of each of the 16 modules. The course was developed to give front-line staff some of the foundations needed to be successful in their work. The content is based on information from front-line staff, administrative and professional staff, and individuals with disabilities and their families. Upon successful completion of the program a training completion bonus and wage increase is received. Module content includes:
