Parkland Community Living and Supports Society (Parkland CLASS) is a not-for-profit corporation and a registered Canadian charity. Utilizing a staffing base of 650 employees, Parkland CLASS provides a wide range of disability supports in Central Alberta on behalf of approximately 400 adults and children with disabilities.
Scope of Activities
For almost 60 years, families and individuals have benefited from the services that are offered by Parkland CLASS. Our Agency currently delivers 16 different programs within 6 service areas: Parkland School, Children's Services, Adult Services, Relax Crew, Arctic Services, and Parkland International. All of Parkland CLASS' Canadian programs are accredited or certified by independent accreditation authorities.
Governance and Administration
Parkland CLASS is governed by an elected community Board. Parkland CLASS' Board has a clear mandate that focuses on strategic planning and establishing the future direction of the Agency. There are seven Board members, three of whom are directly impacted by disabilities within their families, and four of whom have strong business backgrounds. The Board approves all program criteria, which defines what Agency services and programs will be developed and offered to support individuals and families. On a regular basis, the Board monitors and evaluates the quality of all of Parkland CLASS' programs and services.
Parkland CLASS has a strong administration team which oversees the day-to-day operations of the Agency. The organization has a comprehensive policy and procedure foundation that ensures consistent approaches to service delivery and problem-solving. The Service Management Team, with representatives from all program areas, oversee every aspect of each individual’s services.
Special Initiatives and Activities
Parkland CLASS prides itself in the provision of high-quality services. As might be expected, the pursuit of quality has required the organization to develop and invest in specialized services and creative approaches that lead to enhanced personal development and improved quality of life for adults and children with disabilities.
